2014 – 2016 Captains:

Head Coach: Gareth “Gaz” Walker

2013_07_13eos 7d2511The Central Florida Warriors are led by head coach and Deland resident Gareth “Gaz” Walker. Gaz has 23 years of playing experience including having played and captained the England Lionheart, Yorkshire under 18’s, semi-pro for keighley cougars and hunslet hawks. He also played for Dudley Hill, one of the United Kingdoms leading amateur rugby league teams. He has also coached the Dudley Hill under 18’s and reserve grades. More recently he has played for the Jacksonville Axemen for the past two years. Gaz will be getting most of his direction from his Rugby League savy wife (The Central Florida Warriors Director of operations Nicola Walker)

Backs Coach: Kenny Britt

2013_07_13eos 7d2611Kenny will bring some home grown top level experience to the table along with being one of the most elusive full backs in the USARL. A Florida State University Hall of Fame Honoree with 5 starts for the USA Tomahawks (The US National Rugby League Team) and 6 years with the Jacksonville Axemen, helping to win the 2010 National Championship. He is the father of 2 beautiful children and married to the lovely Megan Britt.

Forwards Coach: Craig Howitt

2013_06_29eos 7d1194Craig comes into the 2014 season having played 75 first grade games with the Jacksonville Axemen and winning 2 National Championships. He was also selected in the reserve pool for the USA Tomahawks during the Atlantic Cup in Jacksonville. Craig’s two rowdy sons and patient wife Tammy will be at the games helping out where needed.

2017 – 2018 Captains:

 

Team Captain:  Bart Longchamp

The Central Florida Warriors are led by team captain, Bart Longchamp. He has been playing rugby for the past 9 years and for the past 4 years he has been part of the Central Florida Warriors organization.  Bart is also part of the Orlando Rugby Club Team. He grew up in West Palm Beach, FL and now resides in Orlando.


Coach: Shaun McSweeney

McSweeney is a Queensland, Australia native and played junior and senior football with the Burleigh Bears RLFC on the Gold Coast.  “I’ve been very pleased with how quickly the team has gelled and adapted to each other’s games. Our commitment and hard work at training and on game days is paying off. We know the job is far from done but I have the utmost confidence we can continue to grow as we make a push to the playoffs.”

Coach: Taylor Alley

The Central Florida Warriors are also led by team coach, Taylor Alley. Taylor’s rugby influence dates back decades. He started playing rugby after being influenced by his dad who is in the Orlando Griffins Rugby Hall Of Fame. The UNF Deadbirds were the first club he got the chance to play for starting as a freshman.  He had back-to-back USA Rugby south championships during 2012 and 2013 and was captain of the UNF Deadbirds during their final four appearance.
